1. The 51 visa-free countries are:
1) 24 Schengen countries in Europe:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
2) 13 other European countries:
Russia, Great Britain, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.
3) 6 American countries:
The United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile.
4) 2 Oceanian countries:
Australia and New Zealand.
5) 6 Asian countries:
Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
2. The requirements for passengers enjoying this policy:
- 1) Holding valid international travel documents that can prove their nationality and identity;
- 2) Qualified for the entry requirements of their destination country;
- 3) Holding valid air tickets or arrangements with specific dates and seat numbers which prove they will make transit via Guangzhou Baiyun Airport to the third country or region within 72 hours;
- 4) Being reported to China's exit-entry frontier inspection authorities by their airline companies.
3. How to apply for visa-free ?
For air passengers who are interested to visit visa-free cities during 72 hours, they can apply for visa-free in the airports when arriving. The airports has taken various measures to ensure quick transit registration procedures, designating more staff to provide transit passengers with the necessary instructions, and and installing signs to guide the flow of transit passengers.
4. Travelers enjoying this policy must transit via airports
The policy only implement to transit via airports in Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guilin, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Shenyang, Dalian, and passengers should handle procedures in airports. And finally, they can only depart from the airports in these visa-free cities. That means, travelers come to China by train or any other vehicles should still apply for a transit visa in advance.
5. Travlers are only allowed to travel in visa-free cities
Travelers are only allowed to travel within visa-free cities, and not allowed to other China cities during the 72-hour visa-free period. The policy does not apply to passengers with a single return flight ( e.g. Shanghai - Beijing - Shanghai, Hong Kong - Beijing - Hong Kong ).
