Xian is located in a warm temperate zone and has continental and monsoon climate. It has distinctive four seasons and quite diverse weather year around. Winter is usually cold, and summer is usually hot. So the best time to travel to Xian is spring and fall.

There are many star rated hotels in Xian. At the same time, there are a lot of guesthouses available. Although they lack many of the amenities found in star rated hotels, the guesthouses are family run and quite clean, and see more hotels in Xian.
The cuisine available in Xian is quite diverse. In Xian, the local food has an almost endless variety, and is far more delicious than anything you can find in a "Chinese" restaurant in the west.
