British Airways has announced in Beijing that it will launch direct flights from London to Shanghai, as part of its efforts to expand its presence in the Chinese market.
According to Ashley Cowen, British Airways Asia Pacific commercial manager, the new flights will be operated six times per week all year round and a series of ticket discount promotions will be launched soon.
He pointed out that China has become one of the most dynamic aviation markets in the world. The carrier will continue to increase its investments in the Chinese market to cope with the increasing demand for air travel in the country.
British Airways has also increased its passenger capacity 26% on its flights to Beijing, and it plans to increase the number of flights linking London and China.
