Guangzhou to Launch 72-hour Visa-free Stays

Posted on July 24, 2013

Guangzhou will allow passengers 72-hour stays in Guangzhou without China Visa from August, the third Chinese city to carry out this visa-free policy.

Guangzhou is following Beijing and Shanghai in introducing the visa-free stays, which cover visitors from 45 countries. However they should hold air tickets and valid international travel documents to the third countries and regions. During 72 hours, travels will be able to stay in the Guangdong province without visa.

Zhao Yufan, deputy governor of Guangdongm said on Tuesday, ”The visa-free policy will cement Guangzhou’s status as a key metropolis of China, an international aviation hub and a world-renowned tourist destination.” “Business travelers on a short trip to China, for example attending the Canton Fair or visiting factories, will be glad that the policy saves them the trouble of going through complicated visa application procedures.”

Jill Collins said, “The visa policy will encourage more visitors come to Guangzhou and experience Cantonese morning tea, go up the colorful Canton Tower and enjoy the sun as it rises over Guangzhou’s Baiyun Mountain.”

In addition, only the travelers who enter into Guangzhou at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport can enjoy this 72-hour Visa-free policy.
