This unassuming noodle shop keeps it cozy, with diners clustered around a narrow counter to witness their noodles being assembled. The menu, too, is tiny.
The three main options (RMB 12-18) are noodles with pork sauce, braised beef and braised pork intestines. The first, with its pork, peanut and scallion combo, is a must-try – it’s a winning hybrid of spaghetti bolognese and dandan mian.
Meanwhile, the tripe in the pork intestine noodle soup is soft and tasty, in harmony with the chewy pasta. The noodles’ uncommon texture and flavor comes from the inclusion of egg and milk powder in the dough.
Non-noodle snacks, including sour and sweet cucumber salad and spicy marinated egg, will round out your meal with a kick.
