1. By Airport Express Train/Subway

Capital Airport Express Train

The 28-kilometer's Airport Express of Beijing subway has been put into use on July 19, 2008. This light rail line running from the T2 and T3 of Capital Airport just has four stations in Beijing's downtown area, respectively at Dongzhimen, Sanyuanqiao, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. It just takes 20 minutes for passengers to travel between the airport and Dongzhimen by the Capital Airport Express Train, and the running intervals is every 3minutes. The ticket fare is RMB16/person.


2. By Capital Shuttle Buses

There are 9 regular airport shuttle lines operating to Beijing Airport. Line 3, Line 4 and Line 5 travel in both directions leave every 15 minutes, while other lines in less than 30 minutes. Passengers can buy tickets for the shuttle at the airport or any of the stops in the downtown area.

3. By Airport Taxi

Airport to your hotel by taxi – Do not make contact with taxi touts at the airport, or anywhere else for that matter. Go straight to the taxi queue. Do not pay the fare prior to reaching your hotel. There are scams whereby you buy a “ticket” to a taxi that will take you to the hotel. Fares from airport to downtown hotels cost between RMB100 – 180 MAX, one toll fee inclusive.  Insist the driver drops you off at the main entrance of the hotel and not the street. Most hotels have entrance security cameras capturing all taxis’ numbers.

Beijing Airport Travel Tips

1. There are two special airport bus lines running between Beijing airport and Tianjin Xingang Port: one is between airport and Tianjin and the other is between airport and Tanggu. Check transfer between Beijing and Tianjin Xingang Port for details.

2. The first and last Beijing Airport Bus Most lines running between Beijing city center and airport start at 5:10 and end at 22:00. Some lines run from 7:30 to 24:00.

3. The first airport express train departs from Dongzhimen Station at 6:00, and the last departs at 22:30. The first train departs from Terminal 3 at 6:21, and the last departs at 22:51. The first train departs from Terminal 2 at 6:35, and the last departs at 23:10.
