20111126 - the Best Guide I've ever met
- Name: Brett and Naomi Marshman
- Country: Australia
- Travel Time: Sept.2011
- Itinerary: 6 Days Beijing & Shanghai Essence Tour

Hello Jenny,
Happy Thanksgiving Day to you too!
I am so very happy to hear from you. Thankyou for remembering to give me the name of your home town, it strikes me as very similar to my name...Naomi...Gaomi...I will google it and find out all I can. It is nice to have an attachment in this way to a place, I hope this makes sense to you in your own language, that I am making sense.
You probably think I am silly now, never mind. I love the fact that Kerri and I got to meet you in Beijing. We had the best time in China, Beijing and Shanghai. In Shanghai we even got to see the moon, the wind picked up and blew the smog away and it was a lovely clear night on the 12th September, we felt very lucky.
Please do not ever feel worried that you dont get back to me quickly. Given the amount of time you spent with me organising my trip, I appreciate the time you give to all your clients and feel there is probable little time for you to have a spare moment to email people on a personal level, I do appreciate this. But I have to say that I do look forward to hearing from you.
I was happy to give the feedback, you could not have been more helpful and attentive, you went to so much trouble and then you gave Kerri and I a gift, it should have been the other way around, I felt guilty not to give you anything. But I also felt such warmth from you, to give us such a gift from the heart, the presents from your home town of Gaomi. I have spoken very highly of you to my friends and family, they are astounded at the attention you and your staff gave us...thanks again.
As for anything I can tell you of myself, I am married to a lovely man, his name is Brett. We dont have children, unfortunately I wasnt blessed in that area. We have a lovely dog, she is a Golden Retriever, Jemma is her name. I will send a photo, she is 15 on the 11th December, very old for a dog, she is very well loved and just georgeous.
Have you been able to get home since we last spoke to see your family? Do you live with family, friends...how far is Gaomi to where you live in Beijing. Now I must say a special thanks for sending us to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. I had such trouble leaving the Great Wall. I could not tear myself away it was fantastic. Have googled the Badling section since getting home and it seems much busier...thankyou..... LOVED IT!!!!
Thankyou so much for everything and I look so much to hearing from you again in the future...of course when you can...no hurry, I know very well how busy you are.
Good night from Melbourne, Australia
Best Regards
Yours sincerely :) (did that work as a happy face?????) (that is what it was supposed to be) (new to this)....
Naomi

Mrs.Amrita (India) asked:
My husband and myself are travelling by Air China from Mumbai to Honolulu via Beijing on Dec 28. We have a 14 hour transit (arrive at 10:50am on Dec 28 and depart at 01.50am on Dec 29). On our way back on Jan 9 from Honolulu, we again have a 14 hour transit in Beijing where we arrive at 05.20am on Jan 9 and our connecting flight is at 19:40pm on Jan 9. Due to our long transit time, we were interested to do some sightseeing in Beijing. A few questions pertaining to the above: 1. Is the free visa applicable during our journey both ways and what is the procedure? 2. Can you give us tentative one day sight seeing options with prices that include pick up and drop to Airport. We would like to cover as much as possible from: Badaling Great Wall, Tiananmen square, Forbidden square, Summer palace, Temple of Heaven, Hutong tour, see a kung fu show, have local lunches and cover some shopping places!! 3. What is the mode of payment?

Carrie replied:
Dear Mrs.Amrita,
Thank you very much for letting me your travel plan.
Yes, it is applicable for a visa free trip during your layover. I've sent you an email with the detailed procedure and estimated itinerary with tour price. Please check the details at your convenience.
Best Regards, Carrie,

Emma (UK) asked:
Hi, I will transit at the Beijing airport and stay there from 3pm to 1am. I am interested a tour of the Badaling Great Wall and Forbidden City. Can I have a half day tour to visit these two places? How much would this cost? Is it ok to do this as a solo traveller? Thank you.
Oct.17,2015 19:06
Carrie replied:
Dear Emma,
I'm afraid that you could be able to visit only one place, either Badaling Great Wall or the Forbidden City, as the tourist sites usually are closed at 18:00 during the peak season and at 17:00 during the off season. There is no problem to travel as a solo traveler. I will email you the details later today. Thank you very much.
