Sample Itinerary Overview
Day 1 Beijing – Chengde by Car or Van (L, D)
Today our guide will pick you up at your preferred
location in Beijing. Then drive to Chengde, approximately a 3.5 hour
drive to east of Beijing.
After having a Chinese lunch, go to visit the Chengde Mountain Resort,
the largest imperial garden, and the sightseeing takes about 2 hours.
Then move on to the Pule Temple, one of the Eight Outer Temples in
Chengde City. Most of the eight outlying temples were built in Tibetan
style, while the Mountain Resort was the secondary political center in
Qing Dynasty.
Overnight in Chengde tonight.
Day 2 Chengde – Beijing by Car or Van (B, L)
Pick you up from your hotel in Chengde after your breakfast, and today’s first stop is to visit the Putuo Zongcheng Temple, also called the Littler Potala Palace, one of the Eight Outer Temples outside the Summer Resort. It is similar to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. It takes about 2 hours to visit it.
After that, move on to the Puning Temple, famous for the world’s largest wooden stature of the thousand-armed Goddess of Mercy.
After lunch, drive back to Beijing.
