11 Days Natural Tour of Zhangjiajie with Beijing and Shanghai

Today our tour guide will meet you and pick you up from your hotel around 8:00 am. Then drive to the beautiful Mutianyu Great Wall (80km away from Beijing downtown), it is known for its beautiful surroundings. It is a superb location to appreciate the grandness of the Great Wall as well as to avoid the crowds at Badaling.

After hiking on the Mutianyu Great Wall for about 1 or 2 hours, then move on to the Ming Tombs(Changling or Dingling) and its Sacred Way.

On the way back, you may make a stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to take some pictures of the world-famed "Bird’s Nest" and the "Water Cube" from the outside. Later you will be taken to Beijing Liyuan Theatre to enjoy the Beijing Opera.

Today our guide will pick you up at your hotel around 8:00 a.m. Firstly you will visit the world's biggest city plaza, Tiananmen Square (literally, Gate of Heavenly Peace). Subsequently you will move on to the Forbidden City, the most complete imperial palace in China.

After having Chinese lunch, you'll visit the Temple of Heaven -- the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest.

After the whole day tour, our guide will escort you to the airport for you onward flight to Zhangjiajie.

Today transfer to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area and the rest of day is free at your leisure.

Spend a full day  sightseeing in the Zhangjiajie National Park, officially recognised as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 1992.

After breakfast take the Bailong Elevator to the top of Yuanjiajie sightseeing area. Enjoy the breakthtaking view and tour around. Visit Tianzi Moutain area then take Tianzi cable car down to the foot of mountain. You will transfer to the famous Huanglong Cave, a large underground complex of subterranean chambers, passageways, waterfalls,  rivers and hundreds of thousands of stalagmites and stalactites.

After breakfast you will transferred to Dehang Miao Village, where you can experience Miao people's everyday life in this quiet, small village. Then after lunch, visit Liusha Waterfall. ( requires 1.5-2hrs hiking)

In the late afternoon, drive for 2 hours to Fenghuang Ancient Town, the centre of the Miao minority people. Sample local delicacies in a stilt restaurant overlooking the brightly lit Tuo River. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Get up early to see the locals going about their everyday business before the crowds of tourists surface. Watch the women washing their clothes in the river, the young children batheing and the older children playing elastics in the back alleyways on their way to school.

You will have a tour around this beautiful place. Free at your leisure to shop some handcrafts from local people. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to Zhangjiajie (4.5hrs car ride)

Take the 7.4km long cableway to the top of Tianman Mountain, the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie (standing at 1520 metres). Then spend the rest of the morning hiking out to the various scenic spots. See sub-primitive forests, Tianmen Temple (Buddhist centre of Western Hunan) and Tianmen Cave, made famous by Russian stunt pilots who flew through the 30 metre wide natural archway.

Come down the mountain and visit the Junsheng Sandstone Gallery and the Tujia Folk Museum before transferring to Zhangjiajie Airport for your evening flight to Shanghai.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in downtown.

Enjoy your full day city tour that starts with Jade Buddha Temple visiting, and then, go to Yuyuan Garden, a Chinese classic garden in downtown. Then visit the nearby old street. Continue the trip to the new landmark-World Finance Center.

In the afternoon, have a walk along the Bund and Nanjing Road, China's No.1 commercial street for souvenir shopping.

In the evening enjoy a Acrobatic Show.

Today is free at your leisure to explpore more of this city till it is time to transfer you for your flight back to your hometown.
