Day 1: Beijing classic city tour - Tiananmen, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace; Day 2: Jinshanling to Simatai Great Wall hiking.

Itinerary Details Day by Day

Day 1 Beijing

Pick up at your hotel between 7:00am and 8:30am, This tour starts at Tian'anmen Square with its plentitude of monuments testifying to the communist, and more specifically, Mao's influence on China's modern history. From there you will proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history in the world. Visit the Forbidden City along the central axis from south to north for 2 hours. On the way to Temple of Heaven, you will have a chance to visit the Chinese traditional medicine culture. After having a short rest, we'll visit the Temple of Heaven -- the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. The visit to Temple of Heaven takes about 1 hour.

After chinese typical lunch at local restaurant, enjoy a short visit to a pearl free market not missed. Driving (30minutes) to Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. The visit takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Transferred back to your hotels.

Beijing Temple of Heaven
Day 2 Beijing ( B, L )

At around 6:00 am (since Jinshanling Great Wall is a bit far away from the downtown, we will departure earlier to avoid the morning traffic jam) pick you up from your hotel in downtown Beijing. We offer simple food for your hiking energy: sandwich, water and some fruits. Arrival at Jinshanling Great Wall around 11:00am.

The Jinshanling Great Wall has an elevation of 2100 feet. There is a cableway up to the Jinshanling Great Wall. The fact is that it is very easy to walk up to the Great Wall. Hiking for 3 to 4 hours on its section. Each tower has its unique feature and look. There are relatively less crowded here at Jinshanling Great Wall, it is a nice place to explore the Great Wall around Beijing.

After the hiking, get down the hill at about 3:30PM. After lunch, transferred back to your downtown hotel in Beijing.

Pick up at your hotel between 7:00am and 8:30am, and then driving one hour to get to Badaling Great Wall. Badaling section is the most famous and best-preserved wall. Its highest point at Badaling is some 800 meters above sea level. Cable car is available and it is optional. Before having lunch, you will have 45 minutes to have a short visit of Jade Carving Factory. The jade carving is a famous special Chinese product, a blend of the excellent skill on carving and Chinese traditional cultures. Have traditional Chinese lunch at Jindian restaurant. After lunch, driving about 1.5 hours and get to the Summer Palace. It is the best-preserved imperial garden in the world that boasts centralized architectural masterpieces. After the visit of Summer Palace, have a short visit to a pearl free market. Then transferred back to your hotels.

Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 6:00pm and make sure each participant will be on the bus in time from different hotels. Then go to Beijing Liyuan Theatre - located in Beijing Qianmen Hotel, 175 Yongan Lu, Beijing. Upon arrival at Liyuan Theatre, you will be led to your seat with help of both your tour guide and theatre staff who have your pre-booked entrance tickets.

Beijing Opera is mainly about the tales of successive dynasties regarding important historical events, emperors, ministers and generals, geniuses and great beauties, from the ancient times to Yao, Shun, Yu, the Spring and Autumn Period, the Warring States Period and the dynasties of Qin, Han, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing for 5000 years. Popular with western visitors, the Liyuan hosts Peking opera with English subtitles as well as acrobatics performances in the show. The show ends and you will be transferred back to your hotel around 9:20pm.

We usually finish the Beijing Bus Tour Booking before the night of your tour date, so difficult for us to tell the determine number of tourists in the Beijing tour bus, however, generally there are about 10 people on one tour bus. 4. Due to the fact that these tours are done by groups, hotel pickups can take time from by going from one location to another, which usually takes around half and an hour, so we need your patience and understanding.

5. On the evening before your bus tour departure early next morning, you will get a call or message from your tour guide to fix up your next morning's pickup time which is normally set around 7:00am.
