If you are at all into chinese art, then this is a must! A fantastic building, very good displays, good descriptions, and evrything from art to zitan furniture. Also, they stage interesting temporary exhibitions, with loans from both abroad as within the country. Close to the subway. Last, but not least, it´s free if you make a reservation ahead! Just go!

it's new, roomy, and clean. 5 floors. has a cafe downstair.
I like the floor about the evolution of chinese and world history. well designed and good comparison with what's happening around the world parallel to what's going on in China.
There was also a digital theatre showing a film about the evolution of Beijing the city. It's only in Mandarin though.
